About Us
Commitment To Service
Vivid is dedicated to service and value. All of our licensed stylists sincerely enjoy what they do - a fact that reflects in the smiles and repeat business of our clients. We promise individual attention and great value for all of our customers.
Appointments
Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment. We schedule appointments according to our stylist’s availability and specialty. If you are running late, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. Arriving late will likely limit the time allocated for your service; it will lessen the effectiveness and most importantly your pleasure and enjoyment. As a courtesy to all clients our treatments are completed as scheduled. Cancellations of all styling services require a 24-hour notice. Thank you for your consideration and understanding. Gratuities are not included in the price of services and are greatly appreciated. Suggestions are always welcome.
Please note - if you wish to make an appointment via email (or our handy smartphone app!), messages sent later than salon hours will be received first thing the next morning. These do not book automatically, and our Front Desk Coordinator will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!
Gift Certificates
Treat someone you love, or reward someone who has earned it, to their own Vivid experience! Ideal for holiday gifts, birthdays, anniversaries as well as employees and business clients, gift cards are available in any amount, redeemable towards the recipient's services of choice at the salon.
Our Staff
Liz Covin- Owner, Master Stylist
Liz has been in the "biz" since 1992 and styling hair in Atlanta since 1997. A graduate of Lockworks Academie of Hairdressing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, she is a self-proclaimed "hair groupie!" Liz spent much of her free time growing up around hairdressers, attending hair shows and even working as a hair model. She is an avid fan of Sam Brocato, with whom she briefly worked with while in Baton Rouge. Liz is now a salon owner and Vivid is truly what she has always visualized as the "dream salon". Interacting with all the clients in the salon and making sure they have a positive experience is a priority. Sassy, short haircuts are her specialty with her "twirling" razor. A resident of Virginia Highlands, she is a member of the Morningside Lenox Park Association, the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and three tennis leagues.

Cyrus Gilbert- Stylist
Always the over achiever, Cyrus has worked in many different jobs, and, in his words, "achieved greatness at a very young age." Born in a small town in South Georgia, cyrus learned the value of hard work and dedicatioin before venturing to Atlanta at the age of 19 ("or was it 20?"). While exploring buckhead, he happened across the Aveda institute, where, after touring for 30 minutes, Cyrus decided that he had found the path he wanted to take. Immediately after graduating, Cyrus began work as a stylist, and eventually found himself in a salon purchased by Liz Covin, who he had worked with years before.
Cyrus always strives for perfection, satisfaction, and a feeling of being part of the family. He is a renaissance man behind the chair - who "doesn't care what he's cutting, as long as it hair" - and draws inspiration from a wide range of non-traditional sources (for instance, taking a pattern from a dress to inspire a formal finish updo)
Cyrus' second home is in the Highlands, shared with his partner and two beautiful furry children.

Jenn Deaton grew up outside of Atlanta in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She received her B.A of business administration in 2000, and graduated from the Process Institute of Cosmetology in summer of 2011.
She wanted to study cosmetology because it is something that she is passionate about. She finds inspiration in art, fashion, and music. She is currently in the process of getting her certification for extensions and Keratin.
Jenn joins the Vivid family as an associate. She will be working alongside Cyrus Gilbert, getting to know our guests, salon culture, and neighborhood.
Ann Jameson- Stylist
The daughter of a painter, Ann comes by her passion for the creative naturally. While she didn't always know she wanted to be a stylist, the signs were there from an early age - a 12 year old Ann reportedly told Vivid's owner Liz Covin that she "had the coolest job ever", and was known to experiment with her own hair (a fascination that continues to this day!). Ann's first creative venue came in the form of theatre. She attended Brenau University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in theatre with an emphasis in Costume Design. Designing hair and wigs for various shows went hand in hand with this training, and provided a natural spring board into styling hair as a career.
After college, Ann applied to the Aveda institute, where she actively and enthusiastically pursued a cosmetology degree. A constant mentor and creative input, Liz contacted Ann after graduation, and the rest is Vivid history. Ann specilaizes is women's hair, and enjoys kid's cuts as well.
According to Ann, "Every day is an adventure!". When not doing hair, she feeds her love for the arts with theatre, movies, and museum visits, and is always on the look out for new music to put on her mix tapes (so bing in your suggestions!). Trading os Silly Bands is enthusiastically encouraged.
